Billboard’s Pride Playlist Series

In celebration of Pride Month, Billboard kicked off the "Pride Playlist" series featuring Latin artists who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. This week, rising artist Georgel and Colombian singer-songwriter Esteman shared their empowering playlists.

With songs such as "I Feel Love" by Donna Summer and Café Tacvba's "El Baile Y El Salón,” Esteman celebrated love and liberation. Georgel, on the other hand, honored Black queer artists such as Frank Ocean and Lil Nas X.

Luis Fonsi Reached 2 Billion Views

This week, Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato’s 2017 collaboration “Echame La Culpa” surpassed two billion views on YouTube. According to recent YouTube Charts, the vibrant video, published on Nov. 17, 2017, has averaged more than 350,000 views a day throughout 2020. On the Billboard charts, “Echame La Culpa” hit No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart (dated Jan. 20, 2018). “Thank you all for your support,” Fonsi said on Instagram.

Chiquis’ Self-Love Message

Rocking a black bodycon dress and short blonde locks, Chiquis enjoyed her dinner-for-one at a local restaurant. “Relearning to love myself, appreciating all I am, and recognizing what I want to change about myself,” the Mexican-American singer shared on Instagram. “The most important person you’re in a relationship with is yourSELF. That is the strongest, longest, most valuable, commitment you’ll ever have. Nourish it, value it, and prioritize it! It will never disappoint you...if you’re monogamous, and all in. Until then, you won’t be truly happy with anyone else.”

Ricky Martin Thanked LGBTQ Activists

On Monday (June 15), the Supreme Court ruled that existing federal law forbids job discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or transgender status, a major victory for advocates of LGBTQ rights. “I need to thank those great activists who opened the way so that today, we can walk with fewer stumbles,” Ricky Martin said on social media. “Let us not let our guard down as we continue to be attacked. Important steps have been taken, but beware, they do not rest when it comes to looking for ways to take away some rights we’ve already earned.”

Shakira’s New Hobby

Wearing a helmet, knees and elbow pads, Shakira showed off her new hobby. In a short clip, the Colombian singer skateboards on empty roads as she keeps her balance and does some cool tricks. “It was either this or pottery,” she explained. Shakira also unveiled her highly awaited collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas titled “Girl Like Me,” part of BEP’s eighth studio album Translation.
