Andrés Ovalle Muñoz has been appointed president of Codiscos, Billboard can confirm.

The executive, who in the past has worked with major companies like DuPont and PPG Industries, will oversee one of the oldest and largest record labels and publishers in South America. The announcement comes just weeks after Codiscos' former leader Adriana Restrepo was named president of Sony Music Andes.

"It's an honor for me to part of the Codiscos family," Ovalle Muñoz said in a statement. "In its 70 years of history it already boasts of an extensive and important musical catalog including vallenato, salsa, tropical, folklore and urban. Codiscos is a leading company in Colombia and Latin America when it comes to streaming. We will continue to lead these new technological efforts that connect our artists with their fanbase in the United States, Europe and Latin America."

Founded in 1950 and based in Medellin, Colombia, Codiscos' catalog includes Wolfine’s hit "Bella" and encompasses a catalogue of Spanish-language hits, including songs performed by Maelo Ruiz, Peter Manjarres, Felipe Pelaez, and Nicky Jam.
