Jennifer Lopez is celebrating Selena Quintanilla’s legacy with a heartfelt tribute video published Saturday morning (March 21).

The date marks 23 years since the release of Selena, the biographical film directed by Gregory Navas in which she portrayed the late Mexican-American singer. It also honors the Queen of Tejano, who passed away 25 years ago on March 31, 1995.

“I can’t believe it’s been 23 years since this incredible movie came out and 25 years since her passing,” Lopez expressed on social media. “Selena was such an inspiration to me and I was so lucky to be chosen to play her. As an artist, this movie truly was an experience I’m going to remember for the rest of my life,” she stated, asking fans to share their best Selena memories in the comments.

The three-minute-long video captures a new interview with Lopez, where she’s talking about the impact and importance of Selena in her life and in music. She also shares rare footage of the movie and photos of Selena.
