As the coronavirus disease (covid-19) continues to spread, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that organizers cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the U.S. for the next eight weeks. For this reason, many Latin artists have canceled or postponed their upcoming concerts, including Karol G, Maluma, Jorge Drexler, and many more, in addition to music festivals such as Coachella and Ultra Music Festival.
Despite the challenging times, where it is highly encouraged for everyone to stay home to help prevent the outbreak, many artists are using their platforms to offer fans an intimate concert via livestream as did Alejandro Sanz and Juanes on Sunday (March 16) with their “la gira se queda en casa” (the tour stays at home) one-hour show.
Joining the innovative cause are Rich Music’s artists Sech, Dalex and Justin Quiles, who will each croon fans with their Latin urban and R&B tunes via upcoming live acoustic shows on their individual YouTube channels.
