Jhay Cortez is ready to wrap up a successful 2019, but not without nabbing the collaboration of his dreams. On Nov. 4, the onetime Latin Artist on the Rise artist dropped a remix of his single “Imaginaste” in collaboration with Wisin & Yandel.

“I'm working on a remix coming with two big, big artists I really dreamed of participating with, finally here,” Cortez revealed to Billboard at the 2019 Latin American Music Awards last month. “It's with Wisin & Yandel, 'Imaginaste' remix." The Puerto Rican singer also expressed how the collab with the reggaeton duo came to life. "I had worked with Yandel for a long time...writing and producing. I sent it to him and Wisin and they loved it."

The remix keeps the infectious urban rhythms, while Yandel adds his melodious voice and Wisin his gritty rhymes. “Imaginaste” is about a man who is trying to persuade the girl he likes that he’s the perfect candidate to do “things she’s never imagined.”

Unlike the original song, which is performed by Cortez and Tainy, the remix comes accompanied by a music video featuring all three artists singing at the top of a building and riding around town.

“Imaginaste” is part of Cortez’s debut album Famouz, releasedMay 24 via Universal Music Latin. “I just want my music to be exposed. At this point in my career, I feel very confident about the color of my sound,” he previously told Billboard, stating that the Latin urban fusions with hip-hop and R&B heard in his music comes from his influences such as Don Omar, Drake and Travis Scott.
