Luana Pagani, Lila Downs & More Honored at Intimate Latin Recording Academy's 2019 Leading Ladies Event

Just two days prior to the 2019 Latin Grammys, The Latin Recording Academy honored this year’s Leading Ladies of Entertainment at a private celebration held in Las Vegas on Nov. 12.

Latin Grammy and Grammy winner Lila Downs, actress and model Dayanara Torres, audio engineer and producer Maria Elisa Ayerbe and music executives Luana Pagani (current president and partner of Seitrack US) and Elsa Yep (cfo and evp of Operations for Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula) were the five 2019 honorees. They join past honorees such as Mexican-American singer Becky G and Panamanian songwriter Erika Ender

"This is an honor beyond words, and a responsibility to mentor the women starting in this beautiful industry," said Pagani, who received her honor from singer Ximena Sariñana, said at the event.

Other music stars spotted at the event included Lali, Aimee Nuviola, Paty Cantú, and Paula Arenas.

The Latin Recording Academy's 2019 Leading Ladies recognizes professionals within the arts who have made an impact and inspire future generations of female leaders. 

This marks the third year the Academy has recognized “professional and socially conscious women within the arts and entertainment fields who have made significant contributions, inspiring the next generation of female leaders.” 

A portion of the event’s corporate sponsorships will go toward a scholarship for a young woman studying music.
