The 2019 Premios de la Radio Awards, hosted by radio personality Don Cheto and comedian Franco Escamilla, are sneaking up on us with a promising lineup.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the awards will recognize the best of Regional Mexican music. This year’s nominees include Banda MS, Christian Nodal, El Fantasma and Fuerza Regida, to name a few.

In addition to the previously announced special tributes to late stars Selena and José José, organizers have revealed some of the performances taking place throughout the night. They include Belinda and Horacio Palencia performing “Amor a Primera Vista,” Legado 7 and Herencia de Patrones performing “Cosas de la Clica,” and Adriel Favela joining forces with Natanael Cano to sing “El de la Codeína.”

World premieres include collaborations from La Adictiva and Rio Roma, Gerardo Ortiz and Virlán García, Luis Coronel and La Séptima Banda, and a special segment dedicated to Norteño music by Maquinaria Norteña, La Fiera de Ojinaga and Energía Norteña.

Gloria Trevi has also been announced as the night’s opening act, performing a cumbia version of her single “Abranse Perras,” produced exclusively for the event by producer Toy Selectah of Control Machete. Trevi will also be recognized with a special award for Highest Rated Female Mexican Star in the World.

The 2019 Premios de la Radio will air live from Dallas at 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 7 via EstrellaTV, preceded by a one-hour red carpet special starting at 7 p.m. ET.
