Meet the nominees below:

SECH

In a world of hard-hitting reggaeton, Sech has managed to get on the Latin music scene with his soothing vocals, sensual urban fusion melodies and lyrics that focus on romance, dreams and positive vibes.

ROSALIA

As someone who studied flamenco for nine years, Rosalía discovered a way to bring out her passion for music by fusing traditional Spanish rhythms with pop and taking it to renowned stages such as Coachella. She became a household name with hits such as “Con Altura” in collaboration with J Balvin and El Guincho.

DARELL

Darell, who made the rounds in 2018 as part of the “Te Bote (Remix)” squad with Nío García, Casper Mágico, Bad Bunny, Ozuna, and Nicky Jam, has written songs for some of the biggest artists in the Latin urban scene, including Daddy Yankee, Anuel AA, Ozuna, and Bad Bunny, to name a few.

PAULO LONDRA

Shaping the sensibilities of his generation with a progressive lyrical approach, the rapper from Cordoba, Argentina got inspired by watching Eminem’s 8 Mile movie. Londra has collaborated with artists such as Becky G, Ed Sheeran, and most recently, A Boogie wit da Hoodie.

LUNAY

Lunay dropped “Soltera” in February 2019, under the wings of Chris Jeday and Gaby Music. Its remix, alongside Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny, debuted at No. 73 on Billboard’s Hot 100 in May, making it Lunay’s first appearance on the renowned chart.

JHAY CORTEZ

With a career that spans less than five years, Jhay Cortez has already opened for J Balvin during his 2018 Vibras Tour and scored a Latin Grammy for his role as a songwriter on Tito El Bambino’s 2011 album, Invencible. He released his debut album Famouz in May.
