The new group of urban talent hailing from Puerto Rico (see: Lunay, Guaynaa and Jon Z) keeps growing and taking over Billboard's Latin charts. Now, this week’s Latin artist on the rise Michael Torres (also known as Myke Towers) has joined the movement.

The singer began his career in 2016 with his debut album El Final del Principio, which peaked at No. 12 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Album Sales chart (dated April 2, 2016).  Three years later, Towers made his return to the charts: this time to Hot Latin Songs, where he has three charted titles including “Si Se Da,” which peaked at No. 11 on the Aug. 31-dated chart.

Towers’ music is inspired by superstar Jay Z, and contains honest storytelling inspired by special moments in his life. “My songs are hymns that bring back memories of life, [moments] that impacted my life that I know would impact others,” he tells Billboard.

Myke Towers, who is now working with Casablanca Records, One World Music, and is distributed by GLAD Empire, has also been collaborating with many Latin stars. He teamed up with Becky G for “Money,” and with the Colombian group Piso 21 for “Una Vida Para Recordar.”
