Breaking Down the Album of the Year Nominees at 2019 Latin American Music Awards

The Latin American Music Awards ceremony is getting closer, and fans can’t wait to know who will be the big winner in the album of the year category.

This year, the nominees are Ozuna with Aura, Real Hasta La Muerte by Anuel AA, Luis Fonsi's Vida, Bad Bunny with his album debut X100PRE and Santana with Africa Speaks. The 2019 Latin AMAs nominees are based on key fan interactions with music, including sales, airplay, streaming and social activity tracked by Billboard through its data partners Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound for data covering the periods of Aug. 10, 2018, through July 18, 2019.

The fifth annual Latin AMAs will air live at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Oct. 17, from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Below, see a breakdown for the album of the year nominees.

Bad Bunny - X 100PRE 

Debuted and peaked at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart dated Jan. 5, 2019. It ruled for 26 nonconsecutive weeks (and counting…).

Ozuna – Aura

Debuted and peaked at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart dated Sept. 8, 2018. It led the list for 17 consecutive weeks.

Anuel AA – Real Hasta La Muerte

Debuted and peaked at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart dated July 28, 2018. Led the tally for two consecutive weeks.

Luis Fonsi – VIDA

Debuted and peaked at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart dated Feb. 16., 2019.

               
Santana – Africa Speaks

Debuted and peaked at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart dated June 22, 2019.
