Name: Jefnier Osorio Moreno, better known as Lunay
How did your career start? I used to create freestyle videos for Facebook and social media. One day, the numbers started rising and then Chris Jeday and Gaby Music called me because they wanted to work with me. We have been planning my career for two years now.
Major accomplishment: To be on the Billboard charts, but also to be successful in many countries such as Chile, Argentina and Europe.
Recommended song: "Soltera"
How did you get Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny for “Soltera” remix? My producers reached out to Daddy Yankee and he loved the project. Then, I met Bad Bunny at a hotel in Miami. I left to run errands and when I returned he was already recording his part.
How do you feel about the support of many established urban stars? I’m blessed. I’m only 18 years old and my career started a year ago. It is cool that artists like Nicky Jam, Ozuna, Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny consider me as one of their favorites.
Who inspires you? To be honest, it was Daddy Yankee. My favorite song is “Gasolina.”
Short-term goals: To perform at Coliseo de Puerto Rico and to start a nonprofit organization to give new talent the opportunity to be someone in music.
What’s next: This month, Lunay will be touring in Europe. He will also be performing at Premios Juventud 2019.
