Anuel AA Talks New Music, Karol G & Life Lessons at Billboard Latin Music Week

Anuel AA's dream came true. The trap singer had his first panel at the Billboard Latin Music Conference to talk about his journey from three years in prison to the top of the charts, and how he changed the face of Latin trap in the process.

"Everything [has changed] my whole life, my maturity, the way I work," Anuel AA said. "Little by little, I keep growing mentally and my entire work team keep growing and working more professional, more organized."

What else happened during the panel? Check out the six things you should know about the Superstar Q&A.

Karol G vs Anuel AA: Who will win the artist of the year, new category?

“For me, I will win. For her, she will win”

The influence of Karol G

Anuel AA has learned from Karol G to let go of all negative things.

Underground trap vs. commercial trap

"The most important thing for me was to start making commercial music. Without bad words, without saying negative things in the songs. They knew me by saying negative things in the songs. One of the things that defined me is that I spoke in my songs very loudly, the negative messages, and I already managed to dominate commercial music."

Musical childhood memory

His best memory was when he was 14 years old and Daddy Yankee caught him at a recording studio doing a song.

Difficult times

When Anuel AA’s dad lost his job, they lost everything. He learned all good things at home but the life in the streets showed him the bad side of life.

New music soon

Anuel AA will be releasing new music. First a trap song called “Por Ley” and a collaboration with Daddy Yankee, Ozuna and Karol G titled “China.”
