Calibash wasn’t the only hot ticket in Las Vegas this past weekend.

The multi-artist, high octane Latin urban show took place January 26 at T-Mobile Arena as part of "Morphis Weekend," a two-day mega-concert weekend produced by SBS Entertainment and presented in conjunction with SBS streaming service Lamusica. In addition to Calibash, Morphis included Dia Nacional de la Banda January 25, with performances from top regional Mexican acts like Banda El Recodo, Christian Nodal, Banda Los Recoditos and Gerardo Ortiz.

Staging back to back arena shows was a gamble that paid off for SBS Entertainment. Three years ago, the entertainment arm of SBS launched Calibash Las Vegas as an extension of the long-running Calibash Los Angeles franchise, which took place at the Los Angeles Staple Center over two days the week prior.

This year, SBS Entertainment VP Lucas Piña added Dia Nacional de la Banda to create “Morphis” weekend and encompass two different genres of Latin music.

Over 17,000 tickets were sold for Dia Nacional de la Banda, and 18,600 were sold for Calibash, which featured performances by Enrique Iglesias, Ozuna, Becky G and Farruko, among others, and a nearly 30 minute closing set from Bad Bunny.

A highlight of the evening was Ozuna’s emotional speech, in which he apologized to fans for his participation in an adult video when he was a minor.
