Colombia is home to some of the most popular Latin music artists today, such as Karol G, Maluma, and J Balvin.

Besides the country’s successful urban scene, there’s also the colorful world of Tropipop, know in the industry as Colombian pop.

Developed in the South American country in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, this music genre blends traditional Colombian music, such as vallenato, with other Latin genres, such as salsa, merengue, and pop.

Some of the Colombian artists who fall under this category are Carlos Vives, Fonseca, and Fanny Lu, to name a few.

Billboard has put together a vibrant Tropipop (fusion of tropical and pop) playlist in honor of Colombia's Independence Day on Saturday (July 20). Check it out below.
