Welcome to #TBT Mixtape, Billboard's series that showcases artists' very own throwback-themed playlists exclusive to Billboard's Spotify account. The curated set features the artists' favorite tracks from their youth and childhood.

This week's spin comes from Juanes. The Latin superstar returned last week with his latest single "La Plata," featuring fellow Colombian musician Lalo Ebrett -- the first off a forthcoming as-yet-untitled new LP, set for release later in 2019.

The icon hand-picked the rising talent to feature on the track after a first meeting in Bogota last year. The official video for the track doubles as an ode to the duo's home country, filmed in Medellin, while the track makes sonic nods to the traditional Colombian folk music genre of vallenato.

To launch his latest album cycle and new era, Juanes took a moment to look back to the music of his youth for this week's #TBT Mixtape.

“These songs have been playing on my personal playlist for the last 20 years or so," the singer tells Billboard of the eclectic set, which includes cuts from Nirvana, Beck, Tears For Fears, Carlos Vives, Soda Stereo and more.
