Headliner Massive Attack, Kaytranada and Pussy Riot are also announced for the festival that “believes in the freedom to question who we are.”

Rosalía and Aphex Twin are scheduled to play their first-ever shows in Mexico at the Ceremonia Festival in Toluca, set for April 6. Massive Attack, as well as Aphex Twin, will headline the event.

Kaytranada, Pussy Riot, DJ Koz, Brazilian drag performer and singer Pabllo Vittar and Mexico City geek-embracing teen indie band Little Jesus are also slated for the festival that “believes in the freedom to question who we are.”

Ceremonia, whose mission is to create a “a conscious, inspiring and completely entertaining event” that is a "festival for everyone," will include the presence of Traición, a queer performing arts collective, and collaborations with Greenpeace and the Trans Youth Network.

Festival organizers tell Billboard that although the festival itself has no connection to the government or any particular party, the recent election of leftist President Andrés Manuel López Obrador -- who has promised to represent the country’s poor and marginalized people -- has put in relief the socially conscious intent of the seven-year old festival: “With this year's change in government, the importance of unity and youth-led social movements are at the forefront of all of our minds.”
