March 2019 is set to be a monster music month in Mexico, with two major festivals happening just a week apart.

El Tri, Caifanes, Enrique Bunbury, Bomba Estéreo, Juanes, Dillon Francis and Korn are some of the headliners for Mexico City’s Vive Latino on March 16 and 17. The iconic Mexican rock and alternative festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with a lineup focusing on Mexican and other Spanish-language bands, both historic and emergent.

Artists to look out for on the Vive Latino schedule include Mateo Kingman, Liquits, Draco Rosa, Fantastic Negrito, Flor de Toloache, Hello Seahorse! and, for some vintage mambo, the Damaso Pérez Prado Orchestra.

In Monterrey, in the state of Nuevo León, the eclectic Tecate Pa’l Norte Festival is slated for March 22 and 23, with Artic Monkeys as the big draw.

Kings of Leon, the Hives, Residente, Karol G, Enanitos Verdes, Hombres G, Tokyo Ska Paradise, Nicky Jam, Good Charlotte, Pete Tong and Porter are also on the packed bill.

Carlos Santana, The 1975, Café Tacvba and Ximena Sariñana are announced for both of the festivals.
