Kany García and Residente have chosen the banana and papaya to not only title their first song together as "Banana Papaya," but also to send a clear message to break the barriers and ask for gender equality in society.

Under the slogan that both sexes are the same, the Puerto Rican singers present their new “Banana Papaya” music video exclusively on Billboard.

Directed by Residente, in the clip, the singers use the banana and papaya fruits as representation of men and women, respectively. They show that in the end, everything doesn’t matter -- like who is cooking or watching a game. It doesn’t matter who wears a beard or a mustache because it is a world where nobody is in charge and everyone's the same.

“Banana Papaya” is part of Kany Garcia’s latest album Soy Yo, which is nominated for best new album at the 2018 Latin Grammys.
