Cardi B Says She Won't Allow Her Baby to Forget Her in 'People en Espanol' Cover Story
The rapper is named Star of the Year by the Spanish-language magazine.
Cardi B has had a huge 2018, musically and personally. First, she became a mom. And of course her career keeps growing, not only in the mainstream, but also in the Latin arena. And now she has been named Star of the Year by People en Español magazine.
During her interview with the Spanish-language magazine, the Bronx rapper opened about raising her daughter, Kulture. “It’s my proudest and my happiest [achievement, being a mom]. … When you’re famous, so many things are being thrown at you -- so much gossip, so many problems, so many beefs, so much money, so much of everything -- it just kind of drives you crazy. And then when I see my daughter, it’s like a peace of mind,” she says.
Cardi B says she balances her work and her life as a mother very well and tries to stay very calm when she's with her family. But there is something that she will never allow: "I do not want to miss anything from my baby. ... I read that babies forget people so quick; I don’t want her to forget me,” she says.
For that reason, Cardi B wants to raise her daughter being humble and proud of her heritage, meaning that she will spend time with her family no matter what. “I would like for her to be humble, for her to want to share, for her not to be snobby. I want her at least to speak four languages: Spanish, English, French and I’m really loving Italian. I love how those people talk!”
