Nach & Residente's 'Rap Bruto' Video Will Make Your Head Explode: Exclusive Premiere

Residente & Nach

Residente & Nach

Spanish rapper Nach, known for his socially incisive and critical rhymes, teams up with Residente for “Rap Bruto,” a vocal indictment of the current state of rap and hip-hop, and Billboard is exclusively premiering the video below.

“Lots of jungle, few tigers; lots of fireworks, little caliber,” says the chorus, the mildest of lines in this six-minute manifesto. In the stark black-and-white video, directed by Residente, Nach begins rapping alone, the camera zooming in to his tongue, his teeth, his eyeballs, the focus on the rapper distracted only by occasional imagery that supports the lyrics.

Then comes Residente with the same aesthetic, the imagery, still in black-and-white (for the most part), going in tandem with the spitting rhymes. Stay with it until the very end to fully appreciate the explosion.
