De La Ghetto performs onstage during Calibash 2017 at Staples Center on Jan. 21, 2017 in Los Angeles.

After going back and forth for five years about when he should release his album, De La Ghetto officially dropped Mi Movimiento on Sept. 28. “It was a process and it took time,” he tells Billboard.

Finally, fans can enjoy a 17-track album that shows De La Geezy’s musical growth throughout the years. “It’s an album for people who love good music,” he says of the set, which includes collabs with J Balvin, Ozuna, Daddy Yankee and Fetty Wap.

Billboard caught up with the Puerto Rican artist, who shared five of his personal favorite tracks on Mi Movimiento.

“Caliente” (featuring J Balvin)

“After many years of friendship, we finally have a song together,” De La says of his collab with Balvin. “We did this song from scratch and there’s a lot of sentimental values behind it -- from fan to fan.”

The second track off of Mi Movimiento is also one of De La’s favorite songs from his new album.

“Como Baila”

Keeping it old school, De La Ghetto presents “Como Baila,” a song he produced with his longtime friend Predikador from Panama.

“No Hay Nadie”

“This track has that ‘90s R&B flow, but at the same time, a modern twist,” he says, comparing the style of this song to that of Drake and The Weeknd.

“This is an old Vico C song that I remade,” De La Ghetto says. “This was a big hit in all the parties and quinceañeras back in the days, I just made a new beat to it.”
