'Premios de la Radio' Moves to Mexico to Support Artists Unable to Visit the U.S.
For the first time in its history, the Regional Mexican music awards Premios de la Radio will broadcast live from Guadalajara, Jalisco. The official announcement was made by EstrellaTV.
Premios de la Radio recognizes and celebrates regional Mexican music in the U.S. and, this year, will take place for the first time outside of the United States to support regional Mexican artists who are unable to obtain visas to enter the country and with the intention of sending a clear message of solidarity to the people who have been deported and the thousands of families who have been separated at the border.
“I strongly believe that you can’t stop culture, music or talent with any immigration law or wall,” said Pepe Garza. “We are trying to bring Mexican artists, who are beloved in the U.S., closer to Hispanic audiences."
Premios de la Radio will be held Nov. 8 and broadcast live on the EstrellaTV Network. Nominees will be announced on Oct. 4.
