Two decades after its original release in 1998, “Dame Tu Cosita” became a viral sensation thanks to an animated dancing green alien that sparked global dance challenges on the internet.

Karol G and Pitbull have now jumped on the remix, joining its creator, El Chombo, in a vibrant music video, premiering exclusively on Billboard today (Aug. 29).

The original reggaeton song was recorded by Panamanian DJ El Chombo (real name Rodney Sebastian Clarks Donald) as the intro to his album Cuentos de la Cripta Vol. II and dropped in 1998. Twenty years later, the “Dame Tu Cosita” challenges nabbed the original track a No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100, mostly thanks to streaming.

Released by Ultra Records in collaboration with French label Juston Records and produced by Afro Bros., the new version of “Dame Tu Cosita” fuses the best in Latin music.

“You have the Best of three different musical generations in a song that is becoming a part of history once again, 20 years later,” El Chombo said in a press statement.

“I feel very excited to be part of this song as it was one of the first urban songs that I listened to and danced in my life,” Karol G also noted. “That El Chombo is in the song gives much more strength to the song because he is the true creator; that Pitbull is on the song is an honor because he is an artist that I have always admired and always wanted to work with, and my participation gave it that sensual and feminine touch that was missing to make this remix a complete success.”

As for Pitbull, the song is a total success: “A song that has almost 800 million views, I get to do a feature with an alien, El Chombo, Karol G, plus kids love it. As DJ I Am Chino says: ‘This is most winning!' Ahora, ‘Dame Tu Cosita’ (Give me that little thing).”

The music video also features the little green alien that helped resurrect the song in 2018.
