Tickets for the Rompiendo Fronteras tour go on sale on June 1.
Pop/ranchero star Alejandro Fernandez will team up with norteño icons Los Tigres del Norte to tour the U.S. beginning on August 23. The “Rompiendo Fronteras” (Breaking Frontiers) tour kicks off at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and will stop in 20 cities, including Miami, Los Angeles, Houston and Washington D.C. before wrapping up on November 18 at the Pepsi Center in Denver.
Fernandez is known as much for his pop as for his ranchera fare and is one of the top Latin touring acts in the United States. But the “Rompiendo Fronteras” tour breaks rank because it finds him sharing the bill with a norteño group, a pairing that is highly unusual in a major U.S. tour setting.
But Fernandez and Los Tigres collaborated on a song earlier in the year, which has led to an expansion of their relationship. Although the two acts knew each other, they had never worked together until fans suggested they do so via Twitter. The result was the single “Para sacarte de mi vida,” which premiered in February.
That, in turn led to conversations about a tour, which will be produced by CMN.
