David Bisbal Teases New Music at Billboard Latin Music Awards: 'It's Something No One Can Imagine'

After last year's "Probablemente" duet with Mexican crooner Christian Nodal, Bisbal sets his return to regional Mexican music.

David Bisbal, dapper in a black tuxedo, made a promise that he'll soon announce a new project themed around regional Mexican music.

"I promise," Bisbal told Billboard during a red-carpet interview at Thursday's Billboard Latin Music Awards. "It's something no one can imagine."

Known for his sweeping romantic pop ballads, Bisbal is teasing his return to the regional Mexican genre after his 2017 duet on the track "Probablemente" with Mexican singer Christian Nodal, who last week took home several Billboard Latin Music Awards honors, including artist of the year, new.

The pair's collaboration has given mariachi music a renewed interest among fans and the song's video has seen more than 130 million views on YouTube.

Bisbal, who has collaborated with Mexican acts such as Alejandro Fernandez, Juan Gabriel and Alicia Villarreal, among others, said that Mexico has always been a key market for him and that after many collaborations with artists from there, he feels right at home.

"I really feel Mexican," Bisbal said before singing a portion of "Probablemente" during a very warm day in Las Vegas. "I loved singing with mariachi ... and I have more surprises within regional Mexican music."
