Christian Nodal Reveals How He Would Celebrate Winning Best New Artist at Billboard Latin Music Awards: Watch

Backstage during Billboard Latin Music Week 2018, Mexican singer-songwriter Christian Nodal discussed his nomination for best new artist and how he would celebrate should he win.

Nodal, who is up for the prize against Alta Consigna, Bad Bunny and El Fantasma y Banda Populares del Llano, says that winning a Billboard Latin Music award would feel like a shared victory with his fellow Mexicans.

“As you know, I am 19 years old. I can’t drink here or celebrate much,” he says. “My roots, I am from Caborca Sonora -- Hermosillo is just a tiny jump from Caborca. If I win, I will go celebrate with my people over there.”

At the BBLMAs, Nodal is also up for regional Mexican artist of the year – solo, regional Mexican song of the year for both “Adios Amor” and “Probablemente” and “Me Deje Llevar,” and regional Mexican album of the year for his LP Me Deje Llevar.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards will broadcast on Telemundo this Thursday (April 26) at 7 p.m. ET, live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
