Angel Zamora to Lead EP Entertainment's Latin Music Division
The newly created managing director role is tasked with expanding roster & finding cross-genre projects for clients as streaming jets globally.
EP Entertainment has named Angel Zamora managing director of the newly launched Latin music division.
The founders of the Miami-based entertainment company, Robert "Robeo" Eleazer and Tony Perez, have appointed Zamora to develop the company's Latin entertainment roster in addition to overseeing cross-genre opportunities for current clients.
“When we met Angel, we realized he was the ideal person to create and execute the company’s Latin entertainment strategy,” Eleazer said in a statement provided to Billboard. “We want to create diverse opportunities for our roster in all of the Americas and we know that his longstanding contacts, experience and strategy drives results."
Most recently, Zamora was music producer for the Latin American Music Awards and previously held executive positions in management at NBC/Universal and BMG, among others. He is also a board governor for the Florida Chapter of the Recording Academy.
Some of Zamora’s duties include finding new business and looking for new talent: artists, songwriters and producers. Additionally, EP Entertainment Latin continues in its mission to serve the audience regardless of language, culture and genre, Perez said.
“I’m excited to join EP and help them develop their brand within the Latin music and entertainment community,” said Zamora. “EP is about developing vital new talent that reaches audiences across generations, language and countries. The power is the music and EP has proven that they know how to develop that.”
Founded in 2011 by its leading music executives, EP Entertainment operates in partnership with Capitol Music Group/Universal Music Group. Their full-service approach offers clients an array of options, including stand-alone music publishing. Divisions include touring, merchandising, film & television and Latin entertainment, according to the company's profile.
The EP Entertainment roster includes songwriter Sebastian Kole, recording artist Dylan Hyde and Canadian singer/songwriter Alessia Cara (EP/Def Jam), who in January won the best new artist Grammy Award.
Zamora reports to Eleazer, Perez and Gary Sipich, EVP of Business Development.
