Latin rock icons Maná will sit down for a rare and exclusive Q&A at the Billboard Latin Music Conference April 25. “The Rock Star Q&A” panel will feature superstars Fher Olvera and Alex Gonzalez of Maná, and will officially close this year’s edition of the conference, taking place April 24-26 at the Venetian in Las Vegas, as part of Billboard Latin Week.
The 45-minute panel starting at 5pm on Wednesday, April 25, will dive into a conversation of social responsibility and philanthropy, highlighting Maná’s Selva Negra Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to preserving the environment and community development.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards, in turn, will air live on the Telemundo network April 26 from the Mandalay Bay.
Having Maná take part in Latin Music Week is of particular importance, at a time when social justice and social causes have taken center stage in the national and international arena.
“Maná are icons,” says Leila Cobo, Executive Director, Latin Content and Programming at Billboard. “No other Latin rock band has this level of sales, touring and social impact. They embody artistry and integrity and we are thrilled to have them with us to discuss their belief in preservation and environmental conservation.”
Maná will join a roster of superstar speakers that includes Maluma, Bad Bunny, Steve Aioki, Ozuna and Nicky Jam.
With over three decades of music, Maná continues to shine relevance in Latin culture. In 2016, they became the No. 1 group on Billboad's Latin Airplay Chart with their single “De Piez a Cabeza,” a collaboration with Nicky Jam. The song was Mana’s 11th No.1, track earning them the most Latin No. 1s among duos or groups.
Maná are up for Latin pop artist of the year, duo or group at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
This year’s Billboard Latin Music Week, taking place in Las Vegas for the first time, will also feature exclusive Q&A sessions with Bad Bunny and Maluma, among other artists.
