Nicky Jam and J Balvin's Change the Game in the Urban Genre With 'X' (Equis)

And the bromance continues. Nicky Jam and J Balvin’s new video “X” has arrived and will make you dance, wherever you are. The song, a fusion of dancehall and reggae, provides a new Caribbean sound in the urban genre.

How did this collab happen? Well, the song actually was written by J Balvin, who called Nicky Jam to tell him to have the song as next single. “Normally my songs are more romantic," Jam tells Billboard. "[Balvin] sent [the beat] to me and told me, ‘Yo, Nicky I think this will be a good single for you,’ and I agreed." He accepted -- with the condition that Balvin also participate in the song.

The music video, directed by Jesse Terrero and filmed in Miami, is very colorful, showcasing a lot of dancers. And of course, both Jam and Balvin are having a lot of fun, doing their own dance step and joking around.

Last year, Nicky Jam and J Balvin were on the cover of Billboard's Latin issue, and featured in the Superstar Q&A at the Billboard Latin Conference.
