During the 40th annual Kennedy Center Honors gala, which broadcast Tuesday night, Gloria Estefan’s music career was recognized.

Estefan’s honor started with a short presentation by Eva Longoria, who said, “No one ever gave a song more emotional honesty than my friend Gloria Estefan.” Longoria's speech gave way to a video that showed all of Estefan's achievements.

Then, Becky G was ready to go onstage and perform one of Estefan's greatest hits, "Mi Tierra." But the most wonderful moment happened when Gloria Estefan's daughter, Emily Estefan, hit the stage to honor her mother while singing "Reach," showcasing that talent runs in the blood.

This year, The Kennedy Center also honored LL Cool J, writer and producer Norman Lear, and actor, dancer and choreographer Carmen de Lavallade and R&B and pop icon Lionel Richie.
