Latin superstar Shakira has been forced to cancel her first show for El Dorado Tour. The opening concert was set for Nov 8 in Koln, Germany, and on Tuesday morning (Nov. 7) the “Perro Fiel” singer posted a statement on her social media explaining that she strained her vocal cords.

“My doctors have ordered me to go on vocal rest to avoid any greater damage that could keep me from performing,” Shak wrote.

During the past few weeks, Shakira has been sharing clips and pictures of the rehearsals showing her excitement for the tour. This is the first time in seven years that Shakira will be officially on the road performing for all her fans.

Dorado Tour will now begin in Paris on Nov. 10. Live Nation is working on a new date for the Germany show.
