After 11 years at AEG Presents / Goldenvoice, Rebeca Leon is leaving her post as senior vp of Latin talent to focus full time on her own management company, Lionfish Entertainment.

Lionfish already manages two major names in Latin music -- Juanes (who she has managed for the past five years) and J Balvin -- and has recently signed emerging acts. Leon will also focus on non-music content projects including film and TV.

Leon's time at AEG Presents/Goldenvoice has been widely praised and she was given the AEG Chairman’s Award in 2015 as well as the TJ Martell Women of Influence Award in 2016.  A fierce advocate of Latin music and Latin artists, she was responsible for national tours for the likes of Enrique Iglesias and Juanes, and led a division that was responsible for 700 shows and 2.3 million tickets, grossing over $188 million. In addition, under Leon's tenure, L.A. Live, including the Staples Center, the Microsoft Theatre and The Novo, became premiere destinations for Latin artists in Los Angeles.

"AEG Presents and Goldenvoice has been an amazing place for me to learn the concert promotion business and grow my career," said Leon in a statement. “The company has been incredibly supportive of my efforts to build the Latin business both here in Los Angeles and as a national touring platform. It was a difficult decision to leave the AEG Presents, but it’s the right time for me to focus all of my energy on artist management. And I know there will be future projects down the road that I will work on with my friends at AEG."

Added Rick Mueller, president of AEG Presents North America: "We are sorry to see Rebeca leave the concert promotion business. Rebeca is incredibly talented, creative and passionate about Latin music and her artists. Her management clients will undoubtedly benefit from having her full time attention to further their careers."

Leon will continue to collaborate with AEG, most immediately on J Balvin's upcoming national tour.
Hans Schaefer, who worked under Leon during her time at AEG, will now lead Latin promotions at the company.
