Luis Fonsi's 'Despacito' With Daddy Yankee Reaches 1 Billion Views on YouTube
Luis Fonsi's "Despacito" is a force to be reckoned with. After four months of making its debut on YouTube, the monster hit and chart-topping track's music video (featuring Daddy Yankee) has surpassed the one billion mark in views on the video-sharing site.
Filmed in Puerto Rico, the sultry clip's milestone achievement comes after Fonsi's "Despacito" remix (featuring Justin Bieber singing in Spanish) became the service's biggest musical debut of 2017 (so far), after collecting more than 20 million views in just 24 hours.
The bilingual version of the smash dropped Monday, and both Fonsi and Bieber performed the hit during a concert in Puerto Rico earlier this week.
Luis Fonsi is set to perform at the 2017 Billboard Latin Music Awards taking place April 27 in Miami, and will also receive the Spirit of Hope Award.
The Puerto Rican singer/songwriter recently announced the first set of his forthcoming Love + Dance World Tour, which is set to kick off in Spain this summer.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards are the culmination of the Billboard Latin Music Conference, taking place April 24-27 at the Ritz Carlton Miami Beach. To register, visit BillboardLatinConference.com.
