His first solo album is set to be released on March 31.

Ahead the release of his first solo album, René Pérez (Residente) drops its first official single “Desencuentro,” featuring French singer/actress SoKo, Billboard has learned.

The song is an unusual piece for Residente. His voice feels a bit shy but it is perfectly incorporated into violins, violas, cellos, harps, piccolo, guitars and French horn. Composed by René Pérez, Francis Pérez and Soko, the Spanish/French language lyric, tells the story of two people that are perfect to each other but, at the same time, a mismatch.

"It can be your soulmate, but they are in different orbits. Even if they know each other, they live in a mismatch. The same thing happens between the people we know, the countries, and the moments in general. Disagreement can exist in so many things," said Pérez in a press release.

Perez’s first solo album, titled Residente, is set to be released next Friday (March 31). The Grammy-winning artist will also embark on European tour this summer. Residente is also set to take part at this year's Iconic Singer/Songwriter Q&A at the 2017 Billboard Latin Music Conference taking place April 24-27 at the Ritz Carlton Miami Beach.
