La India and Gilberto Santa Rosa to be among guests at “Salsa University” anniversary concert

Salsa giants El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico will celebrate the band’s 55-year anniversary with a concert in San Juan.

Salsa stars La India and Gilberto Santa Rosa will join the band onstage at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum, with others expected to participate in the celebration for the band known as the "salsa university." Gran Combo founder and director Rafael Ithier announced the concert at a press conference Tuesday (March 21).

The May 27 show could last up to four hours, producer Rafo Muñiz said.

El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico's latest album, Alunizando, is a finalist in the 2017 Billboard Latin Music Award's Tropical Album Category.
