Ahead of Carlos Vives' new single "Al filo de tu amor" and its music video set to drop Jan. 23, Billboard can exclusively premiere a sneak peek of the clip and share behind-the-scene photos from the shoot in New York.

The new pop/vallenato song tells the story of a local DJ, played by Vives, who is sprung on the Colombian beauty queen Ariadna Gutiérrez who lures him in with her charm and then disappears. Heartbroken, Vives embarks on a journey throughout the cold streets of New York to find the love of his life. The West Side Story-inspired video was directed by Felipe Montoya from Mestiza Films.

"The songs are born naturally, and in this occasion I mention New York, and there's a reason behind it," Vives says in a statement. "I have a special connection with that city and with a community that opened their doors and have loved us very much throughout the years ... listen New York, because I am singing to you."

"Al filo de tu amor" follows the Colombian artist and Shakira's Latin Grammy-winning, chart-topping hit "La bicicleta." Both songs will be featured in the singer/songwriter's forthcoming studio album titled Vives.
