Mexican divas Gloria Trevi and Alejandra Guzmán have long been considered rivals. But now, the two are coming together for their first-ever joint concert at Los Angeles' Staples Center on June 2, Billboard has learned.

The show is being promoted by AEG Live and The Sixth House, the entertainment company that has long represented Trevi and has signed Guzmán for this particular show.

“This show comes at a time when the country needs unity,” said The Sixth House owner Guillermo Rosas, speaking exclusively to Billboard. In addition, he said, “I want the industry to fully understand, especially in the U.S., the huge legacy of Gloria Trevi and Alejandra Guzmán. I want people to know how big an influence these two girls were over an entire generation.”

Trevi and Guzmán, both pop rockers, broke stereotypes and boundaries in Mexico in the 1990s and 2000s with music and attitudes that defied what female pop singers throughout the continent were doing at the time. That the two artists are still active and relevant is a testament to their musical output and influence. Yet in all their years of activity, the two have never performed together.

To date, only the June 2 show has been announced, though there are rumors of a duet, a joint album and a broader tour.
