Juanes is calling out to Latino voters through an HBO Latino spot

“We will imagine a better country,” Juanes intones in English. The singer/songwriter wears a fatigue jacket and sports a buzz cut in the PSA, which was posted on the channel’s Facebook page Tuesday (Nov. 2).

The Colombian star is appealing to fellow Latinos to get out and vote. “Indeed, a better world. And work to make that a reality. We will inspire action. We will change minds. We will make our voices heard,” he says.

Juanes, who has been called a "Latin Bono" for his involvement with social causes, previously urged U.S. Latinos to register to vote in the 2012 election. He recently appeared at the RiseUp AS ONE border concert in San Diego, where artists called on the audience to vote. HBO Latino launched its current Habla y Vota campaign in September, with a special that featured singer Prince Royce, comedian George Lopez and other Latino artists and activists.

Juanes earns his 11th No. 1 on Latin Airplay this week with the first single “Fuego,” from his upcoming album Mis Planes Son Amarte.
