NBC Universo Sets Premiere Date for 'The Riveras,' Featuring Jenni Rivera's Children

The Riveras, a reality show featuring late singer Jenni Rivera's kids, is set to premiere on NBC Universo on Sunday, Oct. 16. The 10-episode show will focus on the lives of the Diva de la Banda's five children -- Chiquis, Jacqie, Mikey, Jenicka and Johnny -- following the death of their mother, who was killed in a plane crash in 2012. 

"We want to show the world you can continue moving forward despite adversities. Yes, life without our mother has been painful and difficult. We have weak moments, but at the end of the day we come together as family to figure it out," said Chiquis, the eldest daughter of Jenni, in a statement. 

"Our goal is to represent our mother as the great woman she was and viewers will get to see that through all of us. It’s important to show the public who we are and to discover the truth …a lot has been said on the news and tabloids." 

NBC Universo, formerly known as Mun2, was also home to Jenni's popular reality show I Love Jenni, which ran for three seasons. Watch a brand-new trailer of The Riveras below:
