The Latin Recording Academy revealed this year's Lifetime Achievement Award and Trustees Award recipients on Thursday (Sept. 8).

Music superstars Ednita Nazario, Ricardo Montaner, El Consorcio (Mocedades), Eugenia León and Piero will be receiving the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, which honors performers who have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording during their careers.

As for the Trustees Award recipients, the Latin Recording Academy announced artists Carlos Mejía Godoy, Nelson Motta and Rafael Solano Sánchez as this year's honorees -- recognizing them for their contributions, other than performance, during their careers. The 2016 class will be celebrated during a private ceremony on Nov. 16 in Las Vegas, the night before the 17th annual Latin Grammys.

"It is with immense pleasure The Latin Recording Academy acknowledges and commends such a diverse group of honorees with this year's Lifetime Achievement and Trustees Awards," said Gabriel Abaroa Jr, Latin Recording Academy President/CEO. "Each honoree's individual work in the Latin music industry has proven to be timeless. Undoubtedly the 2016 class will continue to be an inspiration to our culture and community, while contributing to create a priceless artistic legacy day after day for Latin music."

Marc Anthony will be honored as Person of the Year at the annual gala, also taking place Nov. 16.

This year's Latin Grammy nominees will be announced Sept. 21. The awards show will take place the evening of Nov. 17 live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
