Enrique Iglesias released an English version of his current hit “Duele el corazón” featuring Tinashe and Javada, today (July 19).

The track is the companion to Iglesias’ original “Duele el corazón” featuring Wisin, which is at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart this week.

Here’s the twist. While ostensibly in English, “Duele” retains its Spanish title and a bilingual chorus, that both Tinashe and Iglesias sing before Javada comes in to rap.

It’s a great mix of reggaetón, reggae and dance with sultry, melt in your ears vocals.

In releasing an English-bilingual version of an original Spanish language hit, Iglesias is reprising the success story he had with “El perdón" -- he and Nicky Jam later recorded a bilingual version titled “Forgiveness" -- and also with “Bailando,” which has a Spanish and bilingual version as well.

In all cases, Iglesias preserved the rhythmic track that is the foundation of these songs’ success, in any language, an indication of the general public’s approval of reggaetón. English-speaking fans may not know exactly what they’re listening to, but they can certainly dance to it.
