Girl bands ruled Chicago's Ruido Fest on Sunday, July 10, with cool up-and-coming South American duos Ibiza Pareo and Marineros and La Santa Cecilia kicking off the last day of the festival with headlining Colombian group Aterciopelados

The Argentine group Ibiza Pareo, formed by Ani Castoldi y Marina La Grasta, rocked the Coors Light Stage with their pop-electronic set that pumped up the early-bird crowd.

After their performance, Ani and Marina left the stage to be front and center for Chilean girl duo Marineros who performed at the stage across. Although the band had a few sound and technical problems starting their performance, Marineros' Constanza and Soledad wowed the Chicago crowd with their mellow yet powerful electronic music with existentialist lyrics.

Lead by powerful vocalist Marisol Hernández "La Marisoul," Los Angeles-based band La Santa Cecilia serenaded fans with hit songs including "La negra," "Calaverita" and "Nunca más."

While "La Marisoul" danced and did her thing onstage, in the backstage area Aterciopelados' Andrea Echeverri danced to La Santa Cecilia's music while she talked to Billboard about activism and spreading love with their music. "Atercios has found important social issues and topics that we try to fight for and that personally make us stronger," said Echeverri. "As a feminist, my thing is to fight for women rights. That's very important to me. But even though our music does reflect those issues, we also do music that allows people to dance because and get lost in the music and rumba."

Aterciopelados went onstage to perform some of their most popular tracks including "Florecita rockera," "Maligno," "Bolero falaz," "Baracunatana" and "El álbum."

To wrap up the three-day fest, the iconic and legendary Argentine rock band Los Fabulsos Cadillacs took the stage to please all the rockeros singing "Matador," "Mal bicho" and "Calaveras y diablitos."
