The new Cuban wave continues to crest in the Latin music market with the signing of popular reggaeton singer Jacob Forever to Sony Music Latin.

“My team and I can now get our music heard in places where we weren’t as well known and we strongly believe that we’ll be received with open arms,” the artist said via a press release from Sony. “I’m very happy to be able to represent the new generation of Cuban artists.”

The popular Havana-based artist’s single “Hasta Que Se Seque el Malecón” is currently at #18 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart. It has been on the chart for 14 weeks.

Jacob Forever, whose real name is Yosdani Jacob Carmenates, was formerly part of Gente D’Zona. That Cuban group became well known internationally after Jacob Forever’s departure with the Enrique Iglesias megahit “Bailando” and subsequent collaborations with Latin stars.
