Diego Boneta, Ruben Blades & More Latin Artists Conquering the Big & Small Screens in 2016

The Passion stars Jencarlos Canela and Prince Royce aren't the only Latino singers making Hollywood moves in 2016: Diego Boneta, El Dasa and José Manuel Figueroa are also ready to conquer the big and small screen this year.

Jencarlos Canela and Prince Royce

Taking on the role of Jesus Christ, Canela starred in The Passion, Fox's live interpretation of Jesus' final days. Prince Royce played disciple Peter in the musical, which aired Sunday and is now being streamed internationally by Netflix. This summer, Royce will also be seen in a recurring role on Hulu's East Los High fourth season.

Rubén Blades

The second season of AMC's Fear the Walking Dead is set to premiere April 10, where you can catch the talented Panamanian singer/songwriter Blades reprise his character Daniel Salazar.

El Dasa

Mexican regional singer El Dasa will star in NBC Universo's new series El Vato, set to premiere April 17. The 10-episode show is inspired by El Dasa's real life story. It follows an aspiring singer who navigates life in Los Angeles after landing a once-in-a-lifetime record deal. 

Diego Boneta

On May 6, the Rock of Ages actor returns to the big screen with Pelé: Birth of Legend, which tells the story of legendary Brazilian soccer player Pelé.

José Manuel Figueroa

The singer will play the role of his late father Joan Sebastian in the Spanish television series El Poeta del Pueblo, based on the life of Mexican singer/songwriter Sebastian who died in July 2015. The series does not have a set release date but is expected to air this year.

Lin-Manuel Miranda

If you can't get enough of the multi-talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, star and creator of Broadway's Hamilton, get ready to hear some of his original music in Disney's movie Moana. The New York native serves as composer for the film that will hit theaters Nov. 23.

Nicky Jam will make his Hollywood debut in Vin Diesel's new movie xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. Pop singer Belinda will star opposite Zac Efron and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the reboot of Baywatch. We will see Mexican singer and actress Eiza González in Baby Driver, and Becky G will take on the role of the Yellow Ranger in the new version of Power Rangers.
