Family and God were the  recurring theme in the “thank you” speeches at the Latin Grammys. In honor of Thanksgiving Day, we highlight some of those thanks:

Thanksgiving, Latin-Style: These Songs Should Be on Your Turkey Day Playlist

Nicky Jam:  "I want to thank all of my fans, but first and foremost, I want to thank God the almighty. Without him we don't breathe, we don't do anything. Thank you to Colombia for giving me a second opportunity in my career. I want to thank my country Puerto Rico for giving me the flavor I have and bringing music to the world. Dad, I love you. I know you're watching me and you must be crying, I love you. To my children, I love you. My mom in Dominican Republic, I love you, And this award is dedicated to the people in Paris, for what happened. God Bless you."

Chocquibtown: We come form a very small town [in the Pacific state of Chocó in Colombia]. We work very hard to make our dreams come true. Thanks to the Academy, thanks to Sony Music and thanks to el Chocó.

Natalia LaFourcade: “I’m so thankful, first of all to God, who illuminated me to make all the songs that are in this album […] My friend [also nominee Leonel García];  how amazing that we made this album together.”

Juan Luis Guerra: “Thanks to my musicians for working so hard with me. To the Dominican Republic and my manager. And of course, to Jesus, my Lord and Savior. All my capability comes from him. And I have to give all honor and glory to my lord Jesus Christ, who continues to give me beautiful things.”

Alex Cuba: "I want to thank my wife, who I’ve been married to for 20 years and who this album is written for. This album has a song titled “Sara,” and it’s the first I write for my wife and the first I dedicate to her openly and publicly. She’s a very timid and modest person.  In the life of every successful man there is a woman."
