John Reilly, the longtime publicist for Latin stars like Maná, Juanes, Romeo Santos and J Balvin, has been promoted to svp entertainment and multicultural communications at Rogers & Cowan. Reilly’s promotion will expand his role overseeing publicity, marketing and branding initiatives for a roster of Latin music, entertainment and special event clients.

Reilly, who came to Rogers & Cowan from Shorefire Media, was initially an assistant vp and was eventually promoted to vp in the music department several years ago. His new svp title comes after scoring major coups for several of his acts, including performances at the Grammy awards and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Reilly was one of the first mainstream publicists who not only took on Latin clients, but consistently got them opportunities in mainstream press and television, as well as major events that went beyond the Latin world, including the Grammys, The Tonight Show and Good Morning America.

"I have been grateful for the wonderful support Rogers & Cowan has given me for many years now, starting at a point where they first noticed my early work in Latin music, and brought me in at a time when it was still very difficult to open doors for many of these artists," Reilly told Billboard. "With that support and creative encouragement, we’ve continued to make great strides in garnering greater visibility for many talented Latin artists, and now a wider range of projects as well, regardless of previously perceived hurdles of language or culture."

He will continue to report to Maureen O'Connor, evp of Rogers & Cowan.

“John has consistently provided a high level of creativity and strategic counsel for his clients. His guidance has proved extremely valuable to top Latin music stars, premiere special events and award shows,” said O’Connor in a statement.

Reilly’s client list also includes the Latin Grammys, the Hispanic Heritage Awards and Univision show La Banda.
