Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) Mexico has extended its exclusive global publishing deal with Latin pop singer-songwriter and producer Leonel García. The announcement was made Wednesday (Nov. 11) by Yadira Moreno, managing director for UMPG Mexico and Central America.

Through the deal, UMPG Mexico will continue to represent Garcia’s entire catalog, including all songs by his multi-platinum selling duo Sin Bandera, as well as his Latin Grammy-nominated solo albums and his collaborations with artists such as Alejandro Fernández, Natalia Lafourcade, Ha*Ash, Gloria Trevi and Thalía, among others.

“Leonel García is definitely one of the most influential songwriters in contemporary Latin music,” says Moreno of the deal. “His 2015 Latin Grammy nominations are a testament to his refreshing talent and to the excitement he brings to every project he is part of. We are extremely proud to continue our relationship with Leonel.”

In 2015, García leads the Latin Grammy nominations with six nods, including record of the year, best singer-songwriter album and song of the year for his single “Recuerdas,” and for “Hasta La Raíz”, which he co-wrote with Lafourcade and is currently in the Top 20 on Latin Pop Airplay.

Sin Bandera recently announced their reunion, which includes an upcoming tour and album titled Una Última Vez.
