Justin Bieber & J Balvin Team Up for 'Sorry' Latino Remix: Listen
It's the year of the unexpected collabos between mainstream pop stars and Latin idols. First, Will Smith and Bomba Estéreo dropped the carnival-esque remix to "Fiesta" and now Justin Bieber has teamed up with one of the leaders of Latin urban's new class, J Balvin, for a reggaeton-flavored remix to "Sorry."
The two stars teased the new single on social media ahead of its release on Thursday night on iTunes and Spotify. "The Latina girls are gonna go crazy," Bieber tells Balvin in a short Instagram video.
We sort of saw this coming when the two Js met in Los Angeles back in July during the Special Olympics World Games Opening Ceremony and shared a memorable exchange in which Balvin taught his soon-to-be Canadian brother from another mother some Colombian slang. Fittingly, he taught him how to say the word "parcero" or "bro," though by now surely Bieber has added a few more choice words to his Spanish vocabulary.
Enjoy the cultural exchange between Canada and Colombia below and check out Bieber's illuminating Billboard cover story this week, in which he opens up about faith, fame, Selena Gomez, and his new album Purpose, due Nov. 13. "I was close to letting fame destroy me," he tells Chris Martins.
