J Balvin to Perform on 'Today' Show for 'Viva Today' Latin Music Concert Series
Colombian sensation J Balvin has plenty of reasons to celebrate this month. Not only did La Familia, his first headlining U.S. tour, blast off without a hitch, but he's now confirmed to perform in arguably the most high-profile televised event of his rapidly rising career thus far: the "Viva Today" concert series.
Part of the Today show's Latin-centric programming for Hispanic Heritage Month, the Oct. 6 appearance will see him bringing his brand of fresh Latin urban sounds to the mainstream.
In yet another impressive feat, Balvin's "Ginza" video recently became the fastest Spanish-language video to reach 100 million views on Vevo -- reaching the mark even quicker than Enrique Iglesias' billion-dollar baby "Bailando." As if that weren't enough, Balvin is also nominated for two Latin Grammys for his breakthrough hit "Ay Vamos": best urban song and best urban performance.
Those in New York City can catch Balvin and his tourmate Becky G at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square before heading to Washington, D.C., on Oct. 3 and a full month of performances culminating in San Diego on Oct. 25.
