In this new era of diplomacy between the U.S. and Cuba, stars no longer have to worry about potentially violating any sanctions laws when visiting the island (á la The Carters' controversy). Taking advantage of the Labor Day weekend, Usher is soaking in all that Havana has to offer.

The first thing he crossed off his list? An authentic cup of café cubano, naturally. “I deserve it!” he captioned on Instagram on Tuesday (Sept. 8) with his first pic from the island.

Once he charged up with some potent caffeine, Usher marveled at some of the antique cars on the streets of Havana, sharing a photo of a vintage Chevy.

A cigar aficionado like his pal Jay Z, Usher stopped by what looks like a cigar shop and took close-ups of some fine tobacco.

As Usher noted, Che Guevara is still omnipresent, at least symbolically.

Another photo from what we’re assuming is Usher’s hotel, overlooking the Malecón, shows the colorful architecture in the Cuban capital.

Usher couldn’t leave Cuba without experiencing the music firsthand. His latest video speaks of the power of music to unite cultures and features the renowned Havana Compás Dance company, with music director Eduardo Cordova Reyes leading his mostly-female troupe in an Afro-Cuban chant with live percussion.

While there’s no word yet on whether his trip is work-related or purely recreational (though we can think of several ideal Cuban collaborators off the bat), it's clear that Señor Raymond is having a blast.
